The spirit of innovation and independence was on full display at the Paul Ogoun’s Foundation as catering trainees put their practical culinary knowledge to the test in a recent exam!
The practical session provided the students with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills they had gained throughout their training. From food preparation to presentation, the trainees displayed creativity, confidence, discipline, and a growing mastery of catering techniques.
The exercise also provided a platform for the Foundation to assess the progress of the students and encourage them to continue developing their talents. The impressive results recorded during the examination reflected the commitment of both the trainees and their instructor.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Amb. High Chief Capt. Paul Mandela Ogoun, Ph.D., expressed satisfaction with the students’ performance. In a message delivered through his manager, Amb. Ebikeme Joshua Egbere, the CEO thanked God for the vision behind the Foundation and reaffirmed his commitment to providing opportunities that can transform lives through practical education and skills acquisition.
He further acknowledged the efforts of the instructor, management team, and other members of staff who continue to contribute to the success of the Foundation’s empowerment initiatives. The trainees were equally encouraged to remain focused and make productive use of the skills they have acquired.
The Catering instructor Mrs Juliet commended the students for their remarkable improvement, stating that their performance showed how much they had developed since the commencement of the programme. The quality and presentation of the dishes prepared during the examination demonstrated the trainees’ growing confidence and understanding of the catering profession.
For the students, the experience was both rewarding and inspiring. They expressed appreciation to God and to the founder of the Paul Ogoun’s Foundation for giving them access to free vocational training. They said the programme had opened their minds to new possibilities and given them practical knowledge that could help them establish businesses and secure opportunities within the catering industry.
The practical examination is another reflection of the Paul Ogoun’s Foundation’s dedication to empowering individuals with sustainable skills and promoting community development.
