In a heartwarming display of humanitarian services and generosity, Paul Ogoun’s Foundation successfully conducted an outreach programme in December, 27 2024 led by its founder, Amb. High Chief (Capt.) Paul Mandela Ogoun, PhD (JP). This initiative aimed to benefit several orphanage homes in Yenagoa, the capital City of Bayelsa State, and was a testament to the foundation’s commitment to uplifting vulnerable children in society.
The outreach programme was meticulously organized to provide essential educational materials, foodstuffs and other items to children living in orphanages across the State. This comprehensive approach not only addressed the immediate needs of the children but also aimed to foster a sense of belonging and care among them.
The event commenced at 10:00am with a visit to the Daniel and Dorathy Orphanage Home located in Ovom, Yenagoa. Bayeslsa State. The foundation presented a variety of items, including foodstuffs, cash gifts, and lots more—all generously donated by Paul Ogoun’s Foundation. The distribution of these gifts was particularly meaningful as it coincided with the festive season, a time when many children in orphanages may feel isolated or forgotten. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as Amb. High Chief (Capt.) Paul Mandela Ogoun PhD (JP) took the time to dance and celebrate with the children, creating memorable moments that would resonate with them long after the event. Director of the Orphanage, Mrs Glory Ekong Umoren expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the foundation for their outreach efforts, praying for God’s blessings upon the organization for their kindness.
Following this visit, the outreach team proceeded to GloryLand Children’s Care at Opolo, located beside the New Commissioners’ Quarters., they continued their mission of generosity by donating additional supplies. Mrs. Tekerebo Idigienini, matron of Glory Land Orphanage, Home expressed her deep appreciation for the outreach, stating, “We are grateful for this outreach. It brings smiles to our children’s faces and reminds them that they are not alone.” She highlighted the significance of the foundation’s efforts during the festive season, emphasizing that such acts of kindness embody the true spirit of the foundation’s mission of “service to humanity.” She described Capt. Paul Mandela Ogoun is a rare gem and prayed for the foundation’s continued success in all its endeavours.
The outreach team then visited Daisy Orphanage Home for Special Children in Igbogene, Yenagoa, where the atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy. Capt. Paul Mandela Ogoun engaged the children in various activities, including dancing and singing, which brought immense joy to the children, many of whom face emotional and social challenges. One 10-year-old girl from the orphanage exclaimed, “This is the best day ever!” capturing the essence of the joy and hope that the outreach brought to the children.
Throughout the visits, children at various orphanage homes took turns expressing their gratitude for the support they received, showcasing the profound impact of the outreach on their lives.
At the final orphanage home visited in Igbogene, Amb. High Chief (Capt.) Paul Mandela Ogoun, PhD, (JP), took a moment to address the children and staff. He emphasized that Paul Ogoun’s Foundation is not solely focused on providing material support; rather, it aims to show these children that they are loved and valued members of society. His words resonated deeply, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to nurturing the emotional and social well-being of the children. The children in turns prayed for God’s infinite blessings, mercies and all-round increase upon the CEO and the foundation.
As Paul Ogoun’s Foundation continues to foster a culture of compassion and support, this outreach serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that community involvement can have on the lives of those in need. It highlights the importance of coming together to uplift the most vulnerable members of society, ensuring that they feel seen, heard, and cared for.
